Product photography is an important factor in selling. If you are selling a product you 

are bound to have a catalogue, an online store, an Esty store, and the list goes on. 

You will be judged on the quality of your images. If you are proud of the quality products

 you produce you should be equally concerned in the quality of your photography. Use 

yourself as a judge when it comes to shopping online or through a catalogue. In most 

cases a photograph will stir your curiosity. You're more likely to stop or click on 

something with a beautiful picture. 

One thing we would want to know is do you want a solid background (above) or an on

 location shoot (below). No way is right or wrong its all about what you are going for and 

what the picture/s are being used for. we will also want to know a little bit more about 

your product and where you are planning on using the images.

WickedFit Logo Design

A new company Wicked Fit Apparel chose us to come up 

with their logo design. Greg Cain wanted to build an apparel 

brand with the people that do the CrossFit training program in mind. 

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many men

and woman in police academies, tactical operations teams, military special

operations, martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional

athletes world wide. 

...So that was our specific target demographic. We researched 

branding of like companies and other companies not in the same 

apparel field but in the same demographic and target market. 

Some examples are: LifeAsRX, AgainFaster, Under Armor, Danskin, 

Gatorade, various sports teams, Nike, Addidas, Reebok, Puma, and more.

Greg also wanted the logo to embodied CrossFit but if you don't 

know what it is you would like their product too. In particular he

liked the idea of having a person running incorporated into the design.

After concepts and sketching, it was a simple line drawing that captured

the essence of the brand the best.  Its strong lines and bold colors add 

to the suggested propelled motion of the figure.  The head is pushed

 forward and the arms are pumping hard, its got determination, strength

 and passion. It makes you think I want to be this person,... and maybe I am.

I've been thinking a lot about fine art lately, and I'd love to start to  bring the 

hand back into my graphic design. Below are 3 illustrators with very different 

styles, and I dig them all. Feel free to comment on who you like the best and why!

Alexandra Ball

I love Alexandra's Whimsical style. She creates a paper cut out feel with 

a vintage story book pallet, that doesn't lack texture.

Nuno Decosta

Nuno Decosta has gorgeous fashion imagery. I drool over her creation. 
She makes it look truly effortless, creating beautiful negative space, great
 for advertising. Who wouldn't want to be one of her characters. 

Mathew Skiff

Mathew Skiff has such a cool bold style, His punchy graphics are so fitting for t-shirts. 
These are just a few of the ones i instantly loved.

Where do ideas come from

As I was brainstorming a new logo design for our new client, I came across
this video created by Steven Johnson on where ideas come from. It reminds
me that usually a great idea doesn't come from a night of staring in front of
the computer or 3 pages of sketches it takes time to create a solid idea. I'll be
picking up his book this weekend. I also love this video. Enjoy!  :)

Our Favorite Superbowl Ads of 2011

We love when a serious car company has a sense of humor. 

And really any commercial with Kenny G is bound to make you laugh.

This ad is so perfect. They don't need to say a word. We love

the music, the vibrant colors, and creative camera angles.

We thought this ad was clever and romantic. Its cinematic quality 

holds your attention as it slyly pokes at apple. Over all a very chic ad.

New Computers!

We all just upgraded our equipment to the 27 inch iMac's,

 and are in seventh heaven. We went with the i5 Quad Core 

processor, it has a terabite hard drive and drips in sex. Along 

with the new computers we have upgraded to CS5, and we 

are now running like a well oiled machine. Yea technology!
